Adult Support Group Ministries
We all need support from time to time in our lives. Here at Peace, we would like to begin building ministry opportunities that offer support and encouragement for those in our church family and in our communities. Three suggestions for support groups are described below. If you are interested in participating in any of these groups, please contact the church office, 614-837-3732, or Pastor Elaine Sturtz, email@example.com. We also invite you to pray about facilitating or hosting one of these groups. We are not meant to struggle and suffer alone. Let’s be the Church for each other and our communities.
It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found that it can be hard to connect with people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you are facing. GriefShare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. GriefShare will meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each GriefShare session includes a video session, support group discussion, and workbook based personal study and reflection. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.
Peace partners with the Pickerington Church of the Nazarene for this group. A new group will be beginning September 14, 2015, 7-9 PM.
Contact Pastor Elaine, 837-3732 or Pickerington Church of the Nazarene, 837-8824 for more information. Cost $15
Alzheimer’s Support Group
If you are the caregiver for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, you know the hurts and conflicts that this disease can bring. This group is a safe place to share with others who are experiencing the same kings of challenges.
