We Believe...

… in this historic confession of the Christian faith:

    “I believe In God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

was crucified, dead, and buried;

he ascended into heaven,

from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

            the holy catholic (universal) church,

            the communion of saints,

            the forgiveness of sins,

            the resurrection of the body,

            and the life everlasting.”

                                                - The Apostles’ Creed

We believe in the power of prayer …

            active prayer ministry

             intercessory prayer group

             prayer at worship celebrations

prayer cards for individual concerns which are prayed for

throughout the duration of the concern

prayer room available at all times

             e-mail & home “pray-ers”

             prayer at all meetings

prayer in prayer room for those worshiping, pastors, etc.

We believe in …

The Holy Scriptures, experience, tradition and reason

We believe that …

Grace is God’s loving action in human existence through the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit shapes us more and more into the image of Christ.

God forgives sins and changes the human heart when persons repent and trust in Christ.

We believe that the Holy Bible provides the basic Christian teaching about Tithing …

As in the Old Testament – the “tithe” was required of all

A tenth of possessions such as animals, grains, etc.  (the best tenth or first fruits) were to be

set aside and offered to God in thanks for the blessings we are given.     Leviticus 27:30

And according to the New Testament, Jesus affirmed tithing as a form of Stewardship …

using everything God has given us -  life, talents, possessions – to serve God.

“On the first day of every week, each of you is to put aside and save

               whatever extra you earn … “   I Corinthians 16:2

We believe that Tithing brings Joy, Awareness and Fulfillment
