“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”- 1 Timothy 4:12
Teens get enough classroom learning during the school week. We want to teach, show, and encourage an active life with God at the center and that’s exactly what our special events do! Throughout the year there are several chances that students can be challenged, have fun, and explore deeper levels of their faith in God during retreats, mission trips, and events. Our goal is that all of these special events are times that teens can connect with God and each other in ways that make it easy to invite their friends.
Some of the favorites are the Winter Retreat at Camp Otterbein for junior high students; Summer Work Camp where students and adults partner with Jackson Area Ministries in Southern Ohio to take on capital improvements while building relationships; and Camp Otterbein in the summer where students from around Ohio come together to connect with each other and God.
Work Camp – Chillicothe
July 9 – July 15
Students entering 9th grade through adults
Cost $125 for students and $75 for adults
We will be partnering with Jackson Area Ministries to serve in the community of Chillicothe. The physical work on the work sites is only part of the mission; in fact it is just an excuse to build relationships with the people we are serving and team we are serving with. We will begin and end the day with prayer, teaching, and worship in order to help us focus on the reason we are there, to love God and to love others.
Chrysalis is a weekend renewal experience for high school and college age young adults. Its goal is to raise up young leaders in the church through spiritual talks, worship events, and engaging one another through small-group discussions, music, and time to connect with other students/young adults.
Mark your calendar for the upcoming retreats and contact Kate Smith to sign up.
